The blooms are so soft and delicate sitting atop a singular stem, but don't let the appearance fool you. Flowering as early as April in some regions, this white poppy is a hardy grower and a productive plant. You'll be ready to harvest it when the buds have just begun to show color. To extend the vase life of your poppy blooms, let the flowers sit in water overnight. Then cut the stems and remove leaves. Dip the stems into boiling water for a moment to seal them.
