Glory of the Snow - Blue, Chionodoxa luciliae, earns its name by blooming so early that its flowers can appear right through late snow. Upward-facing, starry blooms in pale blue with a bright white center look almost glassy as they open in sprays above neat clumps of strap-like green foliage. Easygoing and quick to naturalize, Glory of the Snow - Blue is perfect for scattering through beds and paths, and the tiny flower sprays are charming in little bouquets.

  • • Pale blue, six-petaled stars are upward-facing and nearly flat
  • • Each bulb sends up 5 to 10 flowers per stem; foliage dies back in summer
  • • Shines in mass plantings where it can naturalize in borders, lawns, and woodland edges
